AOR 100 fuse replacement problem.

Postby MilkIt » Fri Aug 03, 2018 5:25 am

Hey everyone,

I was recently playing through my AOR 100 and blew a fuse. As I took out one of the fuse caps, it was quite stiff. Once I unscrewed it I replaced the fuses and it blew as soon as I switched on 'stand by'.

I figured out that the stiff cap doesn't sit in the hole properly (img a. and b.)

The second cap is fine (c.)

Has anyone had this problem before and also, is it possible I've damaged the amp by not having the fuse in properly?

Thanks

I would check other components than fuse. First power tubes. Maybe one of tubes goes bad and that might be reason for blowing fuse. Second is ohm switch selector( I assume your AOR is series one) Faulty ohm selector can slowly damage output transformer which gonna blow fuse.
