Rack EQ noise

Postby frayed_sanity » Sun Jul 19, 2015 3:40 am

So I got my rack EQ and was really happy it finally arrived. Hooked it up and adjusted the bands to mimmick the ge-7s tone.

I will say that the tone is alot more transparent than the ge7, due to the fact I can tweak more bands. The one thing that is concerning is the amount of extra noise coming through the loop using the rack eq compared to the boss pedal...

I've read that the danelectro fish and chips eq pedal is really quiet. I will keep trying with the rack but if it doesn't get better I will probably just save for a pq3 or the fish and chips eq or something.

Which rack EQ is it?

Usually rack stuff is better built the pedals because pedals are so small they have to cram alot of stuff into that little box but maybe the pedal being D/C powered its more quiet?

What about a BBE sonic maximizer in the loop?

I would say Boss NS-2 Noise suppressor . Or there can be problem with loop and EQ If your loop got switch for 0dB or -10 dB experiment.
