Killimanjaro - Heavy-Rock/Stoner from Portugal

Postby ElKilli » Thu Dec 15, 2011 8:21 am

We are a three piece band formed in April 2011, we are highly influenced by the 70's heavy rock/psch bands and the actual stoner-rock bands.
We have just released our first EP on 7th December and you can hear and download it here: http://botr.bandcamp.com/
Can follow us here: www.facebook.com/Killimanjar0

If you want to, you can also buy the pshysical version. contact me.

Wow, tight music and some great tones, ElKilli.
A really big sound for a 3 piece too.
You guys are a proper power trio if ever I heard one.
Reminds me of Blue Cheer but heavier....very cool.
Did you use your AOR for the album?
I know you play an SG and a Viking.
Cheers & God Bless

I haven't used the AOR on the recording because when we recorded it I only had the Cub Head.
This album was recorded with an Hiwatt Hi-Gain 50 Head and some v30's !

We have just released our first vid, check it !

It's interesting that you used a Hi-Gain 50.
I used a Hi-Gain 50 2x12 combo for some of the rhythm tracks on my songs.
It has a huge bottom end and the distortion in the amp sounds practically designed for stoner/doom metal.
There's certainly no subtlety about it.

For the new album of my band I'll be using an Ampeg V4B with my laney 4x12''. I can't seem to have my AOR properly repaired. It's been like 8 months and have still got no amp. Been through 3 technicians no one was able to repair it. It's now waiting for some new tube sockets because I bet the problem comes from there.
