What model is my unit

Postby release_brian » Sun Feb 25, 2018 9:26 am

Hi All,

I am very New to Laney. I inherited what I think is a relatively old model a few years back but never picked it up until recently (only every used an old 10amp practice amp). I do not know what model it is and there is only a serial number punched into the backplate (model number is blank). I cannot find any comparable photos of my model either. I don't know what it is let alone how to service it as it has a very annoying click sound even with no input. But completely disappears when the power is switched off so assume it must be an earthing issue somewhere.

The amp stands between 2 and 3 foot tall, the dial backing plate is white with chrome fronted cylinder dials, 2 inputs and the laney badge has the border around it. happy to send a pic. I hope one of you experts can help identify the model as I am looking forward to restoring and playing an amp that has the promise of a very nice sound.

Cheerio,

Brian

Thanks Polsky. It will be good once I get to service the connections. But to do it justice I will probably get a professional engineer that knows what they are doing.

No problem bud :D . Yes, this is a good idea to have professional guy look over it. This amp should have original Partridge transformers I guess. If you can read serial number , Laney can give you some info like what year it was build at support@laney.co.uk
This amp is a treasure. Congrats man :D
