LC15R GUTSHOT

Postby DrewV » Thu Oct 06, 2011 1:16 am

Hi All!
I am trying to fix a 1998 LC15R combo. Someone had tried to fix it prior to me getting the amp. The amp did not work when I got it, but I was able to get everything back together and working except for the fx loop/verb. Eventually, I ordered a replacement fx board but it is still a no go. There is a jumper labeled "LN8" that has been messed with. This is where the fx board send/return wires connect (red & blue). If I break the jumper connection and attach the red/blue wires I lose the signal. All info appreciated. Thanks DrewV

I have seen a later model service manual which shows the f x board heading to the pi on a plug labelled hd17. I can't remember where I got it from but I can check for certain when I wake up in the afternoon.

If you Google lc15 service manual you should find it.

Just had a look at your post again... my mistake... the link you refer to isnt on the schematic i have.

have you tried putting a shorting link between the send and return sockets? a direct bit of wire to actually rule out a socket issue? can you see any output from the individual op amps?

it was a while ago, but I think the jumper connections is where the problem was. Possibly connected backwards, at the least not connected properly. dv

ok, the reason for asking was that i'm still deciding if i should take out the fx board from mine. I have one with a dead op transformer and the replacement gives multiple impedance options. I was thinking of using the holes left to put in the 16 and 4 ohm outputs....
