The value of a supergruop?

Postby Sticky_Bomb » Mon Feb 16, 2015 8:12 pm

I'm thinking about selling my amp and wonder what a fair price would be.
It's a 100 watt Supergroup top along with a 4x12 cabinet. According to the previous owner it was made in -75. Tubes and speakers were changed about yen years ago.
It's been worn and torn, but it's LOUD!

I was thinking about £1100, does that seem reasonable?

I bought mine for $1500. It had been kept up pretty well and had a Master mod as well... One question: why do you have the two channels jumped in the pic? I was under the impression that those are all inputs.

Thanks for your reply :) .
I honestly don't know. I remember I got the explanation when I bought the amp about a decade ago, I never fiddled with it.

So why are you selling it? Such a great amp! When I bought mine I was originally going to pick up a 70' Sunn model t. My friend was rockin the Supergroup when I showed up at his studio and after playing them side by side, I knew I had to have the Laney. Sounded better than his Klipp, too in my opinion. I payed $1500 for the head with no cab since I have a few already. He had offers up to $2000 for the Supergroup head already!! Its crazy how much they've gone up in value over the last 10 years.

Well, I don't play in a band anymore and I live a small apartment. This amp needs to be loud and I don't wanna get evicted :p.
If I don't get close to what I'm asking for, I gonna keep it.

Hey Sticky_Bomb,

Is this amp still up for purchase? I've been trying to track a 100w Supergroup and just recently found this thread. I'm new to the board and can't directly message.

If anyone on here is interested in selling there SG 100w (fat chance) I would love to hear from you.

I'm located in Toronto, Canada and am definitely interested. I'm more keen on owning a 100w but would love some more info. If you'd rather use email, my contact is: cameroncharyk@gmail.con
