How to find out how old your Laney Amp is

Postby Crystal_Mountain » Wed Feb 20, 2008 9:51 pm

Hi!

I've bought my Laney GH50L Amp about 2 years ago (he's currently at service, he started throttling and decreasing the volume) [new] but i don't know how old he actually is. Is it possible to figure that out of the serial number?

SN: KGA1439

I already tried the search function but it didn't get what i was looking for.

Stay tuned!

If you pull the amp out of the casing, there may be a build sticker on it. That's how I found out the date of my AOR. Gave me the EXACT date, month, day and year.

Yes, it's normally on a sticker on the side of the chassis itself, or on one of the transformers. The serial numbers dont seem to have much rhyme or reason to them, seem to be a bit random, so they are not a true source of aging/dating these amps.
