Using both inputs on AOR 50

hey, if you've seen my previous post, you know that I have a laney pro tube 50 that wasnt working. Well now it is working! However, I'm interested in trying a set up where I run one pickup to the low input and one pickup to the high input (I have a rickenbacker with stereo outputs), and then using the pick up selector to change from distorted to clean. Anyone have any ideas on how to make this work?

I tried this, once. If I remember correctly, the amp screamed at me. Apparently, it didn't like taking it in both inputs.....

What was the problem with your amp newtolaney?

honestly, I was not able to pinpoint the exact problem. I replaced the power amp tubes, and went through a few fuses, and then the amp finally just decided to work.

i have a 50 watt aor combo dated 1986. i tried plugging into both inputs at the same time. it didn't work on mine. the input is the shorting kind. if you plug into both inputs only the low gain worked. ymmv.

Would a line switcher pedal help?

No you can not use an A/B switch, I have tried and it just doesn't work.
On the old forum I had posted a schematic of what I did to make my AOR a two channel amp with out modding the amp.
