Warehouse Guitar Speakers

Postby notpunkenough » Mon Mar 02, 2009 4:48 am

Just got two of there "Veteran 30's" for my 4x12, their answer to the Vintage 30. Worth every penny. Blow away Celestions and the price is super fair. Def recommend. Very happy. Woke up my AOR and my JCM900. Just wanted to share. Thanks!

Very good to know. I'm considering a quad of these? How are the upper-mids through these? Trying to get rid of the spikeys

I also have a set of Veteran 30's. I personally think that both the V30 and Veteran 30 are great at what they do. There are certain frequencies that both have their advantages and disadvantages. I have combine them together as a pair for my 2x12 and think they sound better. But my favorite is the ET65/ Vintage 30.

I've got two WGS Retro 30's in an x-patterm in my Marshall 1960A. The other two speakers are Celection G12T75's. I prefer this cab with my GH50L over my Mesa and Randall cabs with Vintage 30's.
The R30's are more a true V30 clone from WGS. Only the bass is tighter/deeper and the mids are more pleasing. The upper mids aren't reduced as much as the Veteran 30, but they are less fatiguing.

WGS makes a great product. They will likely be my next speaker provider as well.

I had celestion green backs in my VC 50 and they were not quite getting the job done. I replaced them with WGS ET 65s and I'm am floored on how my laney combo came alive!

From the video Warehouse has on their site, the Retro 30's seem to be a bit too bright sounding...course this could be his guitar/amp/effects setup making it that way too....so hard to tell. But I think I'll settle on the ET65/Veteran30 combo in an x-pattern in my 4x12.
