I'm using the insert/ level trick to tame volume,and this cab really opens up the EQ so you are not dialing out harshness and bite, but bringing up the treble/ mids instead. That high-treble bite becomes more attractive and translates to punch or cut, I think-
(I'm just a hobbiest/ noodler that may one day gig, but that's a way off.) the cab tho delivers really great, punchy, thumpy, low-mid growl and deep sustain. Seems to kill the "unwanted" treble from pick noise too. Oddly the 800 2204 I have does not sound as good with this cab, and likes the 1960 B 4x12 better. I think this cab kills some of the upper-mid of the 800, which is the best part
